This contains my lectures notes for MAT 235 for the fall of 2011 which was
the only time I (Robert G. Petry) taught the course.

Since I was teaching MAT 201 which has some similar content at the
same time I used that material for Units 1-3. I also introduced Unit
0 before this which was about differentiating transcendental
functions. That is now Unit 5 of MAT 226, the course that precedes
this, and will not appear in MAT 235 again when it is taught next.
(That said, partial derivatives will be replacing it here so this will
likely be the new first unit of the course.)

The last unit, which differed from mat_201, was on linear algebra. This unit
I did take from the 2010 documents that Don Spencer gave me and I just used it.
There it was Unit 1, but it became my Unit 4. I have created a latex
cover file, Unit_4_cover.tex to give the document a consistent cover page
as well as appending copyright and license information. It is my impression
base upon discussion before I left that Blake Friesen principally wrote this
document so Don is only listed on the copyright page. (My modifications
were slight so I've left my name off.) Both Don and Blake signed off on
this being put under the FDL license.

To compile the Latex documents, just run (for example)
pdflatex Unit_1.tex
a few times to produce Unit_1.pdf with correct references. There are no
asymptote diagrams in the document but .asy files are created because
my lectures.sty file uses the asymptote package so technically asymptote is
required. If asymptote diagrams are created (see the stats notes for examples)
then you would have to run
pdflatex Unit_1.tex
asy Unit_1
pdflatex Unit_1.tex
for example.
