The following were the main changes to create the third edition.
Example 1-2: Added problem 6, a quadradatic that could be solved by grouping.
Section 1.2.1: Added caveat regarding naive set theory in footnote. Added empty set definition as well as open and closed intervals.
Section 1.2.3: Added more Greek letters in footnote.
Section 1.2.5: Added brief explanation about division by zero and even roots of negative numbers and included reference to Inequalities Appendix.
Section 1.2.6 Added comment about using graphing and x-intercepts to solve equations.
Section 1.2.7 Added comment on utility of symmetry for graphing functions and finding solutions.
Exercise 1-2 Changed problems 12 and 14 to have negative and non-unity coefficients of x respectively.
Section 1.2.9 Added comment on \sqrt{x^2}=|x|, Mentioned piecewise defined function.
Added discussion of similar figures as pretext for defining trig functions and radian measure.
Added Exercise 1-3 on evaluating trigonometric functions exactly.
Section 1.2.10 Moved discussion of using function composition to solve equations from trig appendix to here and added a question in Exercise 1-4.
Section 2.5 Added footnote on continuity. Added problem 2 to Example 2-4 involving the (1-\cos x)/x limit as others didn't use it.
Section 2.8 Added note about writing x=a to represent a vertical line.
Section 2.9 Added comment about continuity being used to evaluate a limit.
Section 3.2 Added two problems on using the definition of derivative at a value a
Exercise 3-3 Added problems showing utility of expanding and some root rules. Modified tangent line problem (now problem 10) to be able to use power rules rather than definition of derivative.
Exercise 3-9 Added an implicit derivative involving secant of y and a quotient
Chapter 3 review: Fixed typos, etc.
Example 4-18 Added "and their locations"
Exercise 4-8 Added two new problems.
Section 5.1 Restated Theorem 5-1 and added reference to MVT corollary to prove two antiderivatives must differ by a constant.
Example 5-15 Added an integral evaluation using geometry.
Exercise 5-4 Added an actual visible graph problem.
Exercise 5-5 Broke into two exercises, one for derivative FTC and one for
antiderivative FTC and put these after their respective text.
Example 5-26 Reordered line equations in 1. to match 5-25 which uses the same functions.
Added Differential Equations section to end of Integration section.
Added an Inequalities Appendix
Added problems to Solving Trig Equations Appendix
